What is lorem ipsum?
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin used as filler text since the 1500s. Designers use it so people look at the layout, fonts and spacing instead of reading the words. It looks like real language — similar word lengths and sentence rhythm — without saying anything.
Tips
- Need text for a web page? Tick Wrap in <p> tags and paste straight into your HTML.
- List items gives one word per line for menus, tags and dropdowns.
- Generate again gives different text with the same settings; the default output is the same every visit so your mockups stay consistent.
Common questions
Is it the standard lorem ipsum?
The first sentence is the classic one; the rest is generated from the same Latin vocabulary so it reads like the original but does not repeat.
Can I use it commercially?
Yes. Lorem ipsum is public domain placeholder text.
