How to read the result
Red, struck through text was in the original but not in the new version. Green text was added. Everything else is the same in both.
Word, line or character
Word mode suits prose, emails and contracts. Line mode suits lists, code and data where each line is one item. Character mode shows the exact letters that changed, useful for spotting a single typo in a long sentence.
Common questions
Is there a size limit?
Word mode handles a few thousand words comfortably. For very long documents switch to line mode, which is faster.
Can I compare two files?
Open each file, copy its text and paste it into a box. Word and PDF formatting is ignored; only the text is compared.
Is my text stored?
Only in your own browser so it is still there when you come back. It is never sent to a server.
