Subject: No objection for a new electricity connection in the tenant's name
I, Joseph Antony, son of Antony Varghese, am the owner of the building at Door No. 14/221, Palarivattom, Kochi 682025 (property tax assessment no. 12/3456, Kochi Corporation).
I have let out the first floor of the said building to Mr. Sanjay Kumar under a rent agreement dated 1 April 2026, for a period of 11 months.
I have no objection to Mr. Sanjay Kumar applying for and obtaining a new domestic electricity connection for the first floor in his own name, and to the meter being installed on the premises. I undertake to inform your office when the tenancy ends.
A copy of my ID proof and the property tax receipt is enclosed.
Signed
Joseph Antony, Owner

Common questions
Can the tenant get the connection without the owner?Generally no. Some boards allow it with a registered rent agreement, but the owner's NOC is the standard route.
Who pays the deposit and whose name is on the bill? The applicant (tenant) pays and the bill is in their name; the owner's consent does not make them liable for the tenant's bills.
For an LPG connection?Gas agencies accept the rent agreement plus this NOC as address proof for a new connection or transfer.
