Driver vacancies in Kerala PSC, KSRTC, schools, hospitals and especially Gulf recruitment ask for a certificate of driving experience, usually naming the vehicle class (LMV / HMV), years, and that there were no accidents. Private employers often forget to issue one; this page gives them a ready format.

This is to certify that Mr. Shibu Thomas, holder of driving licence no. KL-07 20150012345 (LMV and HMV), was employed as Driver with Marine Exports India Limited, Kochi, from 1 February 2018 to 30 September 2026.

He drove the company's Toyota Innova (KL-07-BZ-1234) and Tata 407 goods vehicle (KL-07-AK-5678) for staff transport and local deliveries, averaging about 3,000 km a month. During his service he had no accidents or traffic offences reported to the company.

He is punctual, courteous and maintains vehicles well. He left on his own request to take up employment abroad. All dues have been settled.

What it must include

Driving licence number and classes (LMV / HMV / transport)
Vehicle types and registration numbers driven
Dates of service, and whether full-time
Accident / offence record as known to the employer
Signature, seal and employer contact for verification (Gulf recruiters call)

Common mistakes

No licence number — recruiters cannot match it.
Not saying HMV when the applicant has it; heavy-vehicle experience is worth more.
Private employers (a family) leaving out their address and phone.

Stamp paper, notary and signing

No stamp paper. Letterhead and seal. For Gulf jobs, agencies may ask for attestation by a notary and the MEA; do that after the employer signs.

Common questions

I drove for a family, not a company. Who signs?

The family head signs on plain paper with their full address, phone and ID copy attached. The generator leaves the company field free for a person's name.

Need it in Arabic for Gulf?

Get the English letter attested, then translated by a certified translator in the destination country or at the embassy.

Does Kerala PSC accept a private employer's letter?

PSC notifications state the required format and who may sign; generally a registered establishment's letter is accepted, a family's may not be.
