Stamp paper, notary and signing
Rs. 10–100 stamp paper by state; notarised. Note: for an official Income Certificate (needed for EWS, OBC-NCL, most state scholarships) you apply to the Village Officer / Tahsildar; this affidavit is often required as part of that application, not instead of it.
Common questions
Is this the same as an income certificate? No. The certificate is issued by the revenue department (in Kerala, through e-District) and is what most schemes finally want. The affidavit supports the application.
What if my income changes mid-year?Declare the previous completed financial year, which is what forms ask for.
Can a salaried person use this?Rarely needed; a salary slip or Form 16 is stronger. Use it only if the scheme specifically asks.
