What an NOC is
A No Objection Certificate is a short letter in which one party (an employer, landlord, society, parent, bank) says it has no objection to something another party wants to do — take a new job, apply for a passport or visa, register a vehicle, use an address for a business. It is usually asked for by the office that handles the application.
What to include
- Who is issuing it, on what letterhead, with address and date.
- Who it is for and how they are connected to you (employee since, tenant at, son/daughter).
- Exactly what you have no objection to.
- A line that the NOC creates no liability for you.
- Signature, name and designation. Companies should stamp it.

Yes. Choose "apply for a passport" as the purpose. Passport Seva accepts an NOC from the employer for government and PSU employees; private employees can also attach one.
